Eco friendly message in my works
I have been layering traditional ideas with my social ways of a Asian New Zealand message in my works. I feel from a Social view of the Chinese people we are extremely polite and humble towards putting out messages and are hardly political about things we paint. Asians never really get to the point with their conversations because they feel socially impolite when they present their thoughts first.
But the western perspective we always put it out to the public very clearly and are very bold towards what they want to project out to the public. So i found that messages of my paintings need to have a subtle to fit the bill. The painting must look like a average looking painting that hides the message, but does not remain hidden after the viewer investigates the details. So in this i have experimented on the the timing of details and eye leading devices with hues of ink. Then i have added literal and gestural symbols to reveal the message at the end.
