Title:"Afterlife of an artist" I was very sad when I found out one of my heroes in life, Bill W. D Hammond passed away. Bill was a very humble person and would shy away from photos, he was a philanthropy artist that helped the country during the Christchurch earthquake. I found his art inspired me in many ways during my college painting years. 2016 was the year I won my very first vermont art prize and was invited to the Rannoch for dinner. The paint I saw that day was the exact one I painted for my artist model, I remember it like yesterday how I stared at it for 5 minutes and time froze. The name of the piece : "waiting for buller". Its been close to a year now and I feel I want to let out my feelings and allow a great artist to shine again. R. I. Massive victory for the team and I feel very blessed to have such a cool gallery that is supportive of our works. I would also like to congratulate all the other winners and people that were involved with the prize last night. As Chris Parkin quoted " it was a joint effort and it was the people that made it happen, thousands of hours were dedicated to this award". This thought truly humbles me and I can't say in words how happy I am to take part on this journey.

The best is always yet to come. I discovered my art is all about story telling. I always humble myself when I read the "Genesis". It's such a controversial chapter amongst Christians. We all have a different take. I see it as the serpent disguised in the fragile hearts of man, and the forbidden fruit being a symbol to the heart changing its mind. The gold circles being the symbol of trinity, and the cracks of gold being the embracement of beauty in the imprefections and jesus using his precious and holy blood to come atone for our sins. Sealing off the cracks with gold and making our weakness strong.
