Colourful World

Finally had some extra time to work on something with colour. Lately i have been working on shigeshi boards. So nice most of the work is nice and compact. Some canvas don't really absorb water well and end up looking like a mess. I used more cool colours in this painting. pushing the purples and the sky to create a bit of distance. hope you all like it.

Pine trees are a excellent landscape painting subjects. The niche of the tree's natural habitat allows it to extend beyond the horizon lines from sides of cliffs , breaking the rigid grid with mountains and waterfalls. It softens the edges and also creates a gestural direction to the paintings focal point.

the pine's add radiant colours to the scene and fuses the landscape together as it goes further back. I like to use a combination of blue and green hues to expand the space. — with Wei Lun Ha.

So anyone watched the movie how to train your dragon or laputa?? i was really inspired by the colours used and the compositional elements with the architecture. Heres what i got outta enjoying my time by the tv.

Epic waterfalls need the element of height, it also needs the feeling of surrounding or engulfing water effects. This is usually done with a obscured perspective and is pushed back by cool and warm colours. Hope you all like my new piece .
Sometimes i wish i can be on a high mountain and look down on a sunset. Gazing and let the wind touch my face and just listen to the birds sing. The day can be stressful at times but another day is another beginning.

Stone formation comes in many different shapes and forms and sizes. With painting composition we seek to distribute the stones in a gestural direction for a focal point and also to advance in depth with the layering of the patterns. In my paintings i like to paint the sky blue to enhance the feeling for clouds, this is not commonly used in Chinese paintings, but is more commonly seen in anime art or western paintings. I like to always make a good mix between the best of the two worlds to see how far I can push this experiment.
