Sometimes colour plays a big factor in landscape. With colour the depth of the picture and the space is exploded. The colours give the viewer the idea of the season of the landscape and the intensity of the sunlight. I find Ghibli art a good reference to colours to the natural greens of rocks and trees, and the blues of the sky help pull the clouds into layers.
